Ancient City Nara constructed Changan in the Tang as Japanese capital and Heijo-kyo in a model in 710. Heijo-kyo is a Japan’s first capital.
During the time the capital was located here, it was an outstanding period in terms of the progress of Japanese architecture and art as a result of international exchanges with China and Korea while the foundation of politics and culture in Japan was also formed.
